The BMW Motorrad HP2 Sport was a motorcycle in the sport bike class and a sibling to the BMW HP2 and HP2 Megamoto. It succeeded the BMW R1200S, debuting in 2008 and running until 2012. The bike boasted an eight-valve, fuel-injected, flat-twin "oilhead" engine, one capable of displacing 1170 cc and featuring air-cooled cylinders and oil-cooled heads. Paired with a six-speed transmission, it could achieve 128 horsepower. The frame was tubular steel, but the seat unit was self-supporting semi-monocoque carbon-fiber, making it exceptionally lightweight. Other features ranged from an Ohlins suspension to Brembo front brake calipers and forged aluminum wheels.
